By accessing this website or engaging Lucent Advisory, LLC (“the Firm”) for services, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, you must not use this website or engage the Firm.

The Firm provides tax preparation and related advisory services for individuals and small businesses, as described in a separate engagement agreement. Use of this website does not create a client relationship until an engagement letter is executed.
3. No Legal, Investment, or Financial Advice
Information on this website is for general informational purposes only and does not constitute legal, investment, or financial advice. Tax advice is only provided within the context of a signed engagement agreement.
4. Client Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for providing complete and accurate information. The Firm relies on client-provided data and does not independently verify financial information.
5. Electronic Communications and Signatures
By using this website and the Firm’s client portal (TaxDome), you consent to electronic communication, document delivery, and electronic signatures under applicable law.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on this website, including text, logos, and materials, is the property of Lucent Advisory, LLC and may not be copied, distributed, or used without written permission.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Firm’s liability for any claim arising from services or website use is limited to the fees paid for the specific services giving rise to the claim. The Firm is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits or tax penalties arising from client-provided information.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lucent Advisory, LLC, its owners, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from inaccurate information you provide or misuse of services or website.
9. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration
Any dispute shall first be submitted to non-binding mediation. If unresolved, disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, administered by the AAA. Class action rights are waived.
10. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
11. Changes to Terms
The Firm may update these terms at any time. Continued use constitutes acceptance of revised terms.
Refund & Dispute Policy
1. Fees and Payment Terms
All fees for tax preparation and related services are based on complexity and communicated in advance. Payment is required before any tax return is released or e-filed.
2. Refund Policy
Fees are generally non-refundable once work has commenced. Refunds may be considered in limited circumstances, such as:
If the Firm cannot complete the engagement due to internal error or incapacity and no substantial work has been performed.
Billing errors (duplicate charges or incorrect service level).
No refunds will be issued for:
Changes in tax liability, refunds, or balances due.
Penalties, interest, or adjustments resulting from client-provided information.
Client dissatisfaction with legally accurate outcomes.
3. Extensions and Retainers
Extension retainers and rush fees are non-refundable once submitted or resources allocated.
4. Dispute Resolution Process
Clients must contact Lucent Advisory in writing within 30 days of an invoice if a dispute arises. The Firm will review and respond in good faith.
5. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
Clients agree not to initiate chargebacks without first attempting resolution. Chargeback fees assessed to the Firm will be billed to the Client.
6. Governing Law and Arbitration
All refund or billing disputes are governed by Ohio law and subject to binding arbitration per the Terms and Conditions.
Privacy Policy
1. Information Collection
The Firm collects personal and financial information necessary to provide tax services, including W-2s, 1099s, and other tax documentation.
2. Use of Information
Information is used solely to prepare tax returns, provide advisory services, communicate with clients, and comply with legal obligations.
3. Data Security
The Firm maintains a Written Information Security Program (WISP) in compliance with FTC Safeguards Rule. TaxDome is the secure portal for all document submissions and electronic signatures.
4. Sharing of Information
Client information is not shared with third parties except as required by law or as necessary to complete tax filings (e.g., IRS, state tax authorities).
5. Record Retention
Electronic copies of returns and workpapers are retained for four (4) years; originals remain the client’s responsibility.
6. Client Rights
Clients may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
7. Updates to Privacy Policy
The Firm may update this policy at any time. Continued use of services constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
